I'm A Lily

Hello Loves! Sooo as some of you know, I made the leap from Kauai to Maui in April of this year. Yesssss mid-pandemic and RIGHT AFTER the Kauai landslides that forced me from my home. Really can’t think of a better time to make a major life change…can you?? LOL
Well this leap, like all faith leaps I’ve made (and maybe will ever make), did not go as umm...planned 😅 [suffice it to say I had to engage a landlord-tenant attorney and I never even picked up the keys... sigh]. From the very beginning of things going sideways, though, I had the most delicious peace square in the center of my being. Unmistakable. It was there time and time again as craziness unfolded around me, including the night my husband passed away. Now, my mind...that’s been another story lol! But, you know, I learned something long ago that has LITERALLY been my light in dark times:
FOLLOW THE PEACE!
GOD IS AAAAALLLWAYS IN THE PEACE.
“Walking with God is like being in a river. You can fight the current...and still go down the river. Or you can lay back, be a lily and float peacefully to the same destination.”
So as I awaited the (hopefully!) favorable outcome of this sticky situation - I was hoping for a win-win but this fight wasn’t mine so I had to let God handle His business and stay out of it like. He. said. 🤷🏽♀️ - I tuned in to the part I was actually responsible for: aligning my mind, thoughts, and yeah even my subconscious with what my spirit was saying the whole time: p e a c e .
And that reminds me of what my spiritual father used to say when life got bumpy. I’ll paraphrase:
Walking with God is like being in a river. You can fight the current and bang up ur knees and scratch up your arms...and still go down the river. Or you can lay back, be a lily and float peacefully to the same destination.

As u can see I made my choice 😂 Excited for this next chapter.

MOVE-IN DAY, MAUI MAY 2021
I originally posted the above on Instagram (slightly edited for time relevance) on May 7, 2021. Less than a week later, the opposition dissolved right before me and I moved into the most beautiful home I’ve ever lived in on the first island I ever fell in love with; the gorgeous place I had only dreeeamed to one day call home. A little more than two weeks after that, the owner that was giving me a hard time sold the property and now I don’t have to deal with him at all. COME ON HERE NOW!!
I’ll tell you a secret though: Before any of this, I scribbled down the following dated May 4th:

Jehovah Sabaoth: I learned God in this identity many years and many battles ago.

What am I saying…??
Trust God with your fights. Trust Him with your life. And then (try your best to) relax. Because He’ll never let you down 💯 Oh yeah…and put on some music and worship. It helps.
