You know, one of the hardest things in the world is learning and then confronting who you are. I mean who you really are; absent from the expectations of others and the copying of lives, ideologies, and pursuits that do not ring true within our souls. Who you really are when everything that’s made you “you” isn’t around anymore.

But that’s exactly what each of us have had (and are having) to do - find out who we really are - as this corporate Year of Change demands...well... a helluva lot of change.

Usually this takes people years and years to work through if they tackle it at all. And only sometimes is it done at a person’s own choosing and timing. Most of the time it isn’t.

But now we’re all doing it. We’re all evolving. We’re all finding out who we REALLY are. Together. Right now. And it’s hard. Really hard. And it’s happening fast.

Add to that the seeming notion that conversations online (and offline) dictate you must constantly be making some declaration about who you are and why you’re there. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I feel the pressure.

Sometimes I feel a little stuck as I try to contribute something meaningful in my unfinished, evolving state. Something to cut through the chaos. For me, something from the heart of God that’s not adding to the noise all around. Maybe it’s something different for you…but do you know what I mean? Have you found this to be true for you too??

We’re all evolving. We’re all finding out who we REALLY are.
Together. Right now. And it’s hard.
Really hard.

So recently I’ve begun applying a principle that is THE PRINCIPLE for this conundrum and it’s freeing me from my Shannon-made bonds. What is it? It’s called The Finished Work

The Finished Work says that every requirement for perfection (defined by God as “fullness of maturity”) was fulfilled in the person and life of Jesus - the Christ (literally ‘the anointed|smeared on One”).

(Side note: Christ is not Jesus’ last name. That’s why I said it that way 👆 And Jesus the man and the Spirit of Christ are distinct yet interwoven expressions of some things God has to say in the earth and in creation. We’ll tackle that more another time 😉)

Complete Yet Unfinished - Kekaha, Kauai

For now, just know that mankind, from inception, has been unable to independently work up the rigorous, unceasing standards needed for perfection and, no matter how much we try, we’ll never be able to do so.

But that’s the thing: we don’t have to. We don’t have to be perfect. And we don’t have to give up. All we have to do is believe that the particular expression of the Spirit of God that He sent specifically for the purpose of embodying and displaying full maturity did His job for us and as us and now the work. is. finished. That’s called applying The Finished Work to yourself. And it is effective.

VERY effective.

And now we can rest.

The Finished Work says that every requirement for perfection was fulfilled in the person and life of Jesus -
the Christ....

So I’ve decided to apply this principle as I step up my game in this shifting time. I don’t have to “work to be finished enough” before I give what’s being given to me to give or do what I feel called to do. I can just believe that my final evolution has already been fulfilled in the finished work and move into it as my spirit moves me. Or I move it.

And I’m believing that enough signs and rays of that Finished Work will peek through in what I share with you to bless you as we all walk into brighter and brighter days. And that those rays will shine some light on your life and things you’re facing to help you know and believe that, no matter what, God’s got your back! 💯💯💯
